The Global Vegetarian is a recipe book comprising of all the vegetarian dishes from all around the world. I being a big time foodie was thrilled when I received it for reviewing. Thanks Leadstart for sending me a copy 🙂
The book starts with categorizing the recipes into 3 parts-
- Travelogue recipes: collected from family and friends in different parts of the world, representing mainly the staple food of the country.
- Recipes from doorstep: based on working out ingredients and method of cooking through trial and error.
- Recipes of creative imagination: invented by the authors themselves.
Also, the meaning of vegetarianism and the importance it holds in our culture has been described at the very beginning of the book, making one excited about the recipes that would be followed.
It is not a regular recipe book, but much different from the ones in its genre. Many tips and techniques about cooking have been shared and a detailed description of various terms related to cooking has been mentioned for readers to understand.
The recipes have been categorized very well into Breakfast & Brunch, Snacks & Tid-bits, Lunch & Dinner, Starters, Mains, Sides, Salads, Dressings, Desserts & Afters. Also, an alphabetical arrangement of all the recipes has been mentioned at the end, making it very easy for the readers to locate a recipe in the book.
An awesome treat for the vegetarian foodies. A must pick recipe book. (4/5)
