  • Review-

“A Warm Winter” by Priyam Kumar is a fictional love story about Abhay and Anamika. They meet for the first time on a chilly winter morning when Abhay is all set to reach office but Anamika’s scooty has broken down. He helps her reach the railway station to catch her train. They later become colleagues when Anamika joins Abhay’s office and moreover his own team. Office romance is on the brink and they too seem to enjoy it. They confess their feelings to each other on a trip to Hrishikesh.

Both Abhay and Anamika have dreadful pasts, which they reveal to each other only after committing to their relationship. Later Anamika participates in a beauty pageant and also wins the same, after which she decides to pursue her career in modeling and resigns from her job. This comes as a surprise to Abhay but nevertheless he supports her in her decision. A painful turn is on its verge to enter their lives and it does, leaving their lives shattered.

Anamika is mistaken that Abhay is dead, Abhay on the other hand is happy for Anamika’s success in the glamor world but loses all hope to get her back in his life after getting to know that she is in a relationship with a well-known producer. They meet at one of their friend’s wedding and the sudden twists and turns make it to a beautiful end.

  • Appreciations:

Simple narration style, exquisite use of expressions and a constant pace make the story a good read.

  • Let-downs:

There were points where the scenes would change without even a gap in between the two parts. This will make it difficult to readers to switch their minds from one situation to the other. Adequate editing was required.

  • Verdict:

Nothing extraordinary but a good book to spend time with. (3.5/5)
