  • Review-

“And… They Fell In Love!” by Vikas Singal is a collection of 3 short stories about people falling in love. All 3 stories are totally different from each other, covering different aspects of how people meet and the sudden moment when cupid strikes them. The 3 stories included:

Characters: Priya and Rajveer

This short story covers love from the arranged marriage perspective. It clearly describes the nervousness and emotions one goes through when they have to meet a person for the first time and a very less time decide whether they would want to spend their entire life with each other.

Characters: Tanya and Ravi

It is a cute story of two school going students Tanya and Ravi. They are completely opposite from each other. Ravi is one hand is the shy, serious and focused school topper and Tanya on the other is the bubbly popular new joiner in the school. They get to talking terms through a few encounters and it cute how they fall in love with each other. The innocence of child-like love makes the story beautiful.

Characters: Peter and Patricia

“Hatred is the first step towards love.” This story proves it very rightly. Peter and Patricia meet over a train journey and are instantly irritated with each other. Peter wants to have a peaceful journey reading a manuscript whereas Patricia is busy listening to her music-player at high volume. Patricia’s loud volume music doesn’t let Peter concentrate on the story and Peter’s snores don’t let Patricia sleep. The way they start getting attracted towards each other is lovely.

  • Appreciations:

A good amount of effort has been made to cover a horizon of incidences where people fall in love. Emotions have been described very well. The innocence of love has been kept intact throughout the narration.

  • Let-downs:

Three seemed a less number as I was expecting a few more stories.

  • Verdict:

Beautifully narrated, recommended if you like love stories. (3.5/5)

  • Available at: Amazon (Rs. 61)
